SPECIAL EDUCATION (SpEd) PROGRAM
Current literature defines special education as: individually planned, systematically implemented, and carefully evaluated instruction to help exceptional children (children with special needs – CSN) achieve the greatest possible personal self-sufficiency and success in present and future environment. (Heward, 2003)
- SPECIAL DAY CLASS (SDC) - It provides a program that will develop and enhance the skills according to the learning dimensions set by the school mission: Christian, Cognitive, Affective and Psychomotor.
- MAINSTREAM CLASS (MC) - Academic Mainstreaming is a program for students with Special Needs (SSN) qualified to attend the subjects in the regular class according to the student’s academic skills and behavior.
- RESOURCE PROGRAM (RP) - It is a program that provides assistance to students with special needs (SSN) who are capable of attending all subjects in the General Education. However, they may have one to two area/s of difficulties only such as English and/or Math and/or with behavior problems.
